To enrich the lives of young people and their families by providing professional theatre experiences that educate, entertain and broaden their understanding of the world

What We Do:

The Neighborhood Playhouse is a non-profit theater that produces affordable plays for children and their families. We believe that theatre is a powerful tool that engages young audiences with new stories, different ideas and unique characters. By seeing the world through someone elses eyes, even briefly, their empathy is awakened and the world becomes a much more hopeful place. Established in 2002 doing weekly in-class workshops, The Neighborhood Playhouse now hires local professional actors to perform in their shows. TNP also teaches a variety of classes and workshops in Whatcom County Schools and offers drama camps for young actors each summer.
Mission Statement
Bellingham's Theatre For Young Audiences
Lilly loves everything about school, especially her cool teacher, Mr. Slinger. But when Lilly brings her purple plastic purse and its treasures to school and can't wait until sharing time, Mr. Slinger confiscates her prized possessions.
Lilly's fury leads to revenge and then to remorse and she sets out to make amends.

Based on the books by Kevin Henkes, the delightful Lilly is a mouse with a little bit of attitude and a whole lotta heart! Along with Chester and Wilson, Lilly's best friends, children of every age will identify with the irrepressible Lilly and the delights and dilemmas of her daily life.
